About me

Aftab has more than 18 years of experience in software development for local and overseas clients. He has been a Project Manager for the last 12 years with 8 years of progressive experience in the e-Governance and public services sector. Having excellent know-how in developing distributed systems from initial planning to roll out, Aftab has successfully deployed 11 medium to large-scale systems in his career. Aftab has a knack for mitigating complex project management issues - breaking and resolving problematic situations in projects with superior negotiation skills and technical competence. Spending the early years of his career in the non-tech side of the telecom industry, Aftab brought his experience from that domain to the techie path - translating into tangible skills in communication, process optimization, and user experience. With only 3 years of experience as a software developer, he was promoted to project manager for his performance and commitment to quality for the clients. He has served as a core team member of e-Nothi, the first large-scale application with nationwide implications for the Government of Bangladesh, used across 30K+ offices. Starting initially as a Team Lead for the Procurement and HR modules, Aftab was assigned the role of Solution Architect for the eGovernment ERP (GRP) project and led the core technical team at CoKreates.

Additionally, he contributed to rolling out 4 other nationwide Government projects for the Government of Bangladesh including the Grievance Redress System (GRS) for the Cabinet Division for all Government offices, the Digital Evidence Management and Reporting System (DEMRS) for producing evidential proof in the litigation process against cyber crimes. He also developed a decision support system for one of the largest dry-food manufacturing companies in the country that focused on forecasting consumer demands, stock requirements of raw materials and delivery timeline and outage. While working for an offshore company, he had the opportunity to manage projects for internationally renowned clients like KIA Motors USA, Adobe, Facebook, iHOP, CNBC, the game Metal Gear Solid (MGS), and Hard Rock Hotel. He possesses significant experience in the development sector including Animal Health, Zoonotic diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and COVID-19 while working as a National Advisor (Information Systems) for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations from 2020 to 2021.

An accomplished graduate in Computer Science from East West University, Aftab’s avid interest in research encouraged him to pursue a Master's degree in Data Science from United International University (UIU) which is currently underway. He is focusing his academic prowess on research in Machine Learning and has been working on several papers with local and international researchers.
